The month of May is synonymous with the short but glorious flowering season of the Peony. Laura and Nick had their hearts set on these glorious blooms for their summer affair when they told us they definitely wished for a peony laden wedding at Principote Mykonos.
Filled with their pink and fluffy loveliness the epitome of wedding elegance, herbaceous peonies, tree peonies and enormously flowered hybrids of the two had everything to do with our bride and groom’s wildly romantic day, and festooned not only their centerpieces and the bride’s bouquet, but the wedding cake, their cupcakes and sweets even a herbarium welcome sign with the couple’s names on it.
Our secret sauce for Laura and Nik’s beautiful wedding design was the blending of the softness and romance of their floral vision with the crisp linens paired with the organic details and clean straight lines of Principote. Our inspiration of modern elegance with just a dab of eclectic details included white and gold tables, minimal china and flatware on their guests’ tables and allowed the florals to the do the lush part. Beautiful burgundy, pink, peach, ivory flowers popped off the tables and brought life and richness to the design.
The couple’s fun personality can be seen in their something blue, the stationery suites inspired by the color of Mykonos’ waters, and the custom little “evil eye” charm wrapped around the guests’ linen napkins.
