Whenever we get asked to plan a pre-wedding soiree on the shore our creative cells start tingling! When Lindsey and Constantine asked us to create theirs we knew that we were going to be in for a treat. Planning the layout, design, florals, and lightning is what we love to do and the beautiful beaches of Messenia are the perfect backdrop for a seaside pre-wedding celebration. Feeling the breeze, the sand on our feet, and the sound of the waves really brought us back to the simple pleasures in life.
The elegant seaside bash was held at the postcard perfect Riki in Marathopolis right before the immaculate vistas of the Ionian Sea. The sweet welcome started on the sand verbena with a quintessentially chic dessert station, brimming with sugar and gold paste treats, white-blue Chinoiserie and golden accents, dressed by pink and blush peonies, garden roses and many spray roses to complement the setting.
We created a welcome parlor with rattan tables and wicker weave swing chairs in classic white and beige so the couple’s guests could wander through and enjoy the view.
Desert awnings were employed at the dinner parlor to provide hefty shading, whilst clusters of lanterns were placed over the tables aside glass bubble vases decorated with minuscule gardens of greenery, roses, and wisteria, placed inside macrame nets, all giving a soft romantic glow around the venue.
White-blue porcelain, rose-gold silverware, and teal Roman glass were thoughtfully arranged at the tablescapes which focused around handmade macrame runners topped with fine tile ceramics and ornate copper – toned trays and candlesticks, crystalline votive candles and lush blooms.
We loved the about-to-be-weds thoughtfulness of their guests, providing liberal seating and ongoing shuttle transfers home, all spelled on whimsical calligraphy boards.
